Blogging?

Since the summer of 2004 I blog here at my provider. I was one of the first bloggers here and have a guide written on the basis of my own experiences with. Text software. I felt as a real tester and I did not think after about 2 1/2 years this is still a type I tester.

It is unfortunate that XS4ALL hitherto never been to a final status is switched with the blog software. Anyway, it is functioning properly and failure are limited.

A disadvantage of this situation is, however, that there is little influence on the negative side of the blogging here. This way no ip addresses blocked, causing hundreds of pieces of spam this year I could remove 1 by 1. Also this year I noticed that more people are who like your blog overwhelmed with negative and insulting opinions. I am reasonably been preserved, but some other bloggers are literally to the bone offended. I do not think the intention and it is also not motivating. But giving in to these guys, no thanks!

As another new year has arrived, it is a good moment for reflection. Reflection not only about life but also for example blogging. The last time I spend less time behind the computer because I keep physically struggling with the aftermath of the wrist surgery in late October last year. I get a silicone patch and additional occupational therapy to a decrease in the growth of scar tissue and to provide opportunities to increase the movement.

Except for occasional PC and I'm doing other things and that also ensures the less my motivation for blogging has become. I've been a little while, and inspiration that is needed to write alhier. I'm not going (directly) to stop, but a reflection on my blog future is certainly in order ...

    Yep. Reflection is always good. I would regret it if you stop it. Fewer items may also be the solution. What I recognize is the stutus and lack of innovation from the xs4all blog service. I am we have to consider whether I should switch to another blog service. Have you some good tips in this context for me. Which blog service is good, one has many options?

    I certainly do not stop immediately. In itself, I think blogging is fun enough just now my life is that little things can write or because it simply can not or I can not think of anything.

    I regret that XS4ALL not hurry, but what I have understood that they are now again doing.

    On my own site http://www.jogy.nl I am currently testing on wordpress because I like that best. Pivot I've ever tried but I found less and I want my fotolog and that can integrate with wordpress. But how do I then everything from there to here to get, that's one of the reasons that I will certainly not directly going close.

    So I'll stay here blogging, but probably to a lesser extent.

    Hmmm .. First things first: the blog - tis remains a form of self-expression, respectively. You can leave egg. When you get there at some point no longer need, then you're done. What Gonzo represents can not hurt, maybe you focus more on your photoblog. Writer's block / blog? No unknown phenomenon ;) Rediscovery of inspiration remains a difficult thing.

    Status XS4all, well, you know da'k was finished with that (experimental - my @ $ $) and mn own site'm going to do - and that's despite the slightly higher cost fine. The transfer is a tragedy, but it should still be that XS4all you a dump of your data in SQL can provide. If that's so, then it is a matter of Peeling with importing the data - can help you there as possible. Lemme know.

    @ Gonzo, blog service - if you do not want to manage the site, blogger.com and wordpress.com remain excellent alternatives. You will always sit with your old data, you leave it behind or take it with you to your new blog (and you can do it)? Success!

    Thank you for supporting explanation. As I said, it is partly a physical problem and of course the search for inspiration. My life is currently determined by things I can not really write about because I can hurt myself and others and I find that too far.

    I do not assume that I am quite faint of blogging because I do it long and I've more often had a dip. But I am working on my own server with WordPress and perhaps that I first go together, since I also want to put my photo blog and that's certainly a lot of work. In that respect, you are still not rid of me :-)

    Frenchy But if I go, I can probably use some help. What I see that you also use WordPress. Because I want to be my current layout and posts and put it first because that shadow floating tool that I wrote about 1 times can fill multiple blogs, which makes it pretty easy to manage :-)

    do you want to rent space and a blog (and / or more) up? Email me here ... I did hear tips.
    In any case no longer in the Netherlands webspace rent, too expensive.
    I am now a customer of mine site to a CMS community setting. I do that with Joomla ... you can link to anything, like here at XS4ALL, only with much more, much nicer, bigger (40 GB server storage), and cheaper.

    Where you can rent this space, you can send me an email about it? So far I have found for 28 euries 1Gb per year, but that is not enough if I want to merge my blog and fotolog.

    Joomla tells me something, because I think it is the successor of Mambo and content management system. I have now found new hosting space through the tip of Cinderelly and I now have my fotolog first moved. I was a great day with fresh :-)

    But my fotolog is running again and all that is now a lot faster. June is my other contract here in NL and I have links to all the pictures have converted. I XS4ALL requested a sql dump and I hope this blog elsewhere without too many problems to load.
    It does not mean that I leave here, because I think the community here yet cozy enough :-)

    I am not (yet) gone, I'm still here and I continue to be, but probably in a different way. Currently I am next to being sick really sick and then not do anything about blogging. Thus, this first look at the last post, for I have a dump of my database and I hope they asked for me to do.

    I am waiting now for an email Cinderelly off. I stand by like xs blogging. I am someone who is faithful. But more options are always welcome. So just look in another garden or the grass is greener.

    I am also loyal and departure either. Nevertheless, I like you more options because I want more influence on my blog possibilities. It, however, a closing off the other does not. I normally blog here with great pleasure and now anything less, but that has more to do with myself than with the environment here.

    I have gone through Jacq an answer how and where Cinderelly space and I also logged. I can also send the data if you send me an email ff.

    but J am glad you are here on the way helped.
    I still have no complaints about this provider.
    the helpdesk is truly sublime! response within fifteen minutes. day and night. and always very friendly.
    I sometimes asked them whether they have money every month for their services, because I do not understand what they do with it.
    40 GB for $ 5.95 per month ....

    only fear I ever have: the servers are located in New York ... has not thrown a bomb to go to ....
    so I have to provide their own backup ... especially for my clients.

    It is truly amazing that they can for that amount. Too bad that there are some limitations, but on the other hand, before I say 5 GB filled with photos also takes ff. Indeed J answered the question directly and there is certainly no worse of them become :-)

    So far I find it all faster than the hoster who a few miles from my house and I now have all the customers transferred to the U.S.. All. Com domains were already there (or from another party) and now I have everything there. They offer many more services and options and that's really a relief.

    I have all the local sites are in the final version and as my hd crash than it is online and vice versa it is on my PC. It would be really special and both together would crash :-)

    yes I had first time ...

    but you really should make every effort to fill up 40 GB of course, so it's largely bluff ....
    most customers will not exceed 100 Mb maybe ... (unless you're in the video market is :)
    but I now send photos to people with a lot to this provider.

    My fotolog is about 250MB, but now it can quietly continue to grow and I do not have anywhere to go to post pictures. I can also put other things there, as indeed for your full 40 Gb gets you quite some time.
